What coffee filter is the best?
When choosing a coffee filter, the most important thing is to choose one that is the right size and shape for your coffee maker.
In general, coffee filters are used in two types of coffee machines, drip coffee machines and pour over coffee machines. Depending on the preparation method used, most coffee machines use basket-shaped filters, and only some models use conical filters, what you have to be clear about is that all pour over coffee machines use conical filters.
Filter types
Paper filters,
Paper filters remove most sediment and oils from the coffee, producing a clean, clear, light cup of coffee.
Discolored paper filters
They are bright white, a color that is achieved using chlorine or oxygen, both methods involve a multi-stage process and generate waste.
Non-discolored filters
Easily identified by its natural brown color, although undiscolored filters leave a papery taste in the coffee, this can be easily avoided by simply rinsing the filter under hot water before brewing.
Metallic Filters
Metal coffee filters are made of fine mesh stainless steel designed to filter out most sediment from coffee while letting oils pass through, coffee flavors such as fruit and sweets are only present in oils , oils that remove paper filters.
Fabric Filters
Fabric filters offer several of the advantages of paper and metal filters, removing much more sediment than metal filters, producing a clean cup of coffee, but retaining the oils that paper filters don't let through.
