We roast our coffee where it grows because that’s the fair thing to do.

The French press

The French press, or also called a plunger coffee maker, is a method that guarantees a complete immersion of coffee in water, which is why a highly concentrated drink is achieved that will provide you with all the energy needed to face the day. This is an ideal method to share with family or friends, to sit down and have a good, long chat without the coffee losing its freshness.

What you need

  • French press.
  • 30 grams of Coffee Tellers Co. ground coffee (coarse grind).
  • Half a liter of water.

How to make

  • Preheat french press with some hot water and remove it as soon as the container warms up.
  • Add 30 grams (6 tablespoons) of Coffee Tellers Co. ground coffee in the press and add 500 ml of water at a temperature around 92º and 95º.
  • Close press, without lowering the plunger and let the mixture rest for 4 minutes.
  • Open press, stir for a minute and remove the foam that remains on the surface of the coffee.
  • Close press again, let it rest for another 5 minutes and finally lower the plunger to the surface of the coffee.
  • Serve with care.

Tip

The grind must be coarse and needs the same consistency because if it is very fine it is possible that it will cover the filter. Warning: do not drink the coffee in Styrofoam or paper cups because the coffee will lose its clean taste. Fun fact: although the first press was introduced in 1929, the most popular design was patented in 1958 by Italian Faliero Bondanini, who unveiled his model in France and got its name from there.
